Our volunteer committee are residents who dedicate their time and skills to ensure the shop runs smoothly and remains viable. Each member brings unique talents and perspectives and is passionate about maintaining this vital village service.

MANAGER
Our wizard of keeping the shelves stocked and the welcoming smiles.

Richard Fletcher
CHAIR
Richard is a man of many shirts and ties, but the 80+ he owns now rarely leave the wardrobe (Sarah says you need to declutter!)
Favourite shop purchase: Dutch stem ginger cake.
Nikki Parker
DEPUTY CHAIR
Nikki is the proud caretaker of two rescue dogs and three rescue hens, who are now living their best lives in comfort and luxury.
Favourite shop purchase: Vegan black pudding.
Paul Roberts
TREASURER
Most likely heard saying ‘no’, Paul holds the purse strings tight. If he’s not counting the pennies he’ll be playing indoor short-mat bowls.
Favourite shop purchase: Salmon pate.
Cheryl Glazer
DEPUTY TREASURER
Despite our requests, Cheryl has yet to demonstrate her tap dancing skills. One day we’ll persuade her!
Cheryl also stocks the shop’s ‘Little Boutique” with all lovely gifts and cards.
Favourite shop purchase: Coffee… lots and lots of coffee!
Kate Green
SECRETARY
Kate has two very handsome golden retrievers called Crumble and Custard.

Andy Sacha
MEMBER
Andy is Thorncombe’s very own Oenophile (that’s a wine aficionado to you and I!).
He is sporty through and through and was part of the UK’s 2012 Olympic bid.
Favourite shop purchase: Furleigh Bacchus Dry….of course!
Wilna Hawker
MEMBER
Wilna was manager until she handed over to Marie. Though retired, she’s still an integral part of the shop, stepping in during holidays and offering invaluable knowledge whenever we need to recall past practices.

We’re always on the lookout for new folk to join us! The hours can be flexible to what you can spare and can be as little as just an hour a week. No matter how much time you can give, you’ll be welcome, and we guarantee plenty of smiles, laughter, and a warm, friendly atmosphere!
